“What is it like?”, “How does it feel?”, “Is it for me?” – These are all questions that have, at some stage, gone through our minds.
The RYA recognises that sailing is not for everyone. Issues of safety and security, physical ability, time availability, and cost, among others, all need to be considered. However, once considered, and the decision to “go for it” has been made, there is no question that the yachting bug bites hard and the passion for this pastime becomes strong and everlasting. The freedom to be at one with the elements, and harness the power of the wind to carry you to destinations never before visited, is unique to the sport. Until you have experienced the joys of sailing first hand, the peace, relaxation and confidence you will enjoy will always remain a dream.

Brian & Pippa are a British couple and the founders and proprietors of Miramar Sailing.They are both Commercially Endorsed RYA Ocean Yachtmasters and RYA Cruising Instructors. The wealth of experience gained on the oceans of the world and chartering has been focused on their business to make it one of the most successful sailing based operations in the Caribbean. The development of their RYA Recognised Training Centre has been a natural progression to ensure that the high standards of safety and professionalism taught by the RYA Training Scheme are available to all who share their passion for yachting. |

Phil is our RYA Chief Instructor. He is from South Africa and one of the best RYA Yachtmaster Instructor/Examiners you will ever have the pleasure to train under. His vast experience with several of the major UK and South African Training Centres will impress from the moment your sail training begins. His calm, confident style, coupled with an outstanding knowledge of his subject, is a first class example to all aspiring yacht skippers. |

“Miramar” is our MCA Category 2 approved training vessel equipped, fitted and last inspected to RYA standard RGN 1 in September 2010. She is a beautiful Beneteau Oceanis 400 with a helm sensitivity and turn of speed seldom found in a yacht of this size. She is the perfect sail training vessel and a much loved member of our Team! |
