30 days sea time, 2 days as skipper, 800 miles, 12 night hours. (See NOTE 2) |

VHF Certificate; First Aid Certificate. |

6 to 10 hours for one candidate; 8 to 14 for two. |
NOTE 1: Experience must be within 10 years of examination
NOTE 2: With Coastal Skipper Practical Course Completion Certificate the sea time requirement is reduced to : 20 days (2 days as skipper); 400 miles and 12 night hours |

RYA / MCA YACHTMASTER OFFSHORE |
| Previous experience & minimum sea time: |
50 days sea time; 5 days as skipper; 2,500 miles; 5 passages over 60 miles, including 2 overnight and 2 as skipper. |

| Certification required pre examination: |
VHF Certificate; First Aid Certificate. |
| Minimum duration: |
8 to 12 hours for one candidate; 10 to 18 for two. |

OCEAN |
| Previous experience & minimum sea time: |
Ocean passage as skipper or mate of watch. |
| Form of examination: |
Oral and assessment of sights taken at sea (See NOTE 3) |
| Certification required pre examination: |
RYA / MCA Yachtmaster Offshore. Yachtmaster Ocean shore based course completion certificate. |
| Minimum duration: |
Normally about 1 ½ hours. |
| NOTE 3: Written exam in lieu of shore based course completion certificate |
